Chevrolet Teases Sporty And Luxurious Looking Blazer EV

The Chevy Blazer EV will officially debut on July 18. It will be a mid-size SUV based on GM’s new Ultium battery and powertrain architecture.
General Motors CEO Barra posted a full photograph of the company’s upcoming Blazer EV and confirmed that more details about the vehicle would be announced on July 18. The pre-production model pictured in the photo comes with many design elements that make it stand apart from the current Blazer SUV, but there are enough similarities to suggest that they are from the same family. The existing Chevy Blazer is one of the relatively obscure models in the GM lineup and starts at just over $33,000 for the base model.
Chevy Blazer EV Price And Specifications
In terms of detailed technical specifications, GM has played its cards close to its chest, meaning there is little public knowledge about the upcoming EV. What is known, however, is that it will be built on General Motors’ new Ultium battery and powertrain architecture which is set to become the foundation for many of the other upcoming EVs from the company, including the Equinox.
Regarding pricing, GM hasn’t offered any target for the Blazer EV, but the company has said that it intends to sell the Equinox EV at a starting price of $30,000. If the company can stick to that price tag, that will make the Equinox one of the most affordable EVs in the market and might force Tesla to re-look at its pricing strategy. GM is targeting a spring 2023 launch for the Chevrolet Blazer EV, so it will be interesting to see if the company can stick to that deadline.
